 一.   Teaching aims

1.      Students can read, say and understand the new words: sweets; a box of ; hard; soft; teeth.

2. Students can read, say and write the sentence patterns in partA

3.  Students can use the key sentence“Which one do you like , a hard one or a soft one?/What do you like?”

4. Grasp the irregular plural: tooth ((pl) teeth; foot (pl) feet

 

二.Teaching Key points and difficult points

Key points:Can use the sentence pattern“I like/don’t like……”.

Difficult points:Can use the sentence pattern“Which one do you like?/What do you like?”.

 

三.Teaching aids     

Pencils, apples, books, oranges, a box of sweets.  word cards

 

四.Teaching steps

S1:Warming up

1.      Greeting:

The teacher and the students greet each other.

T: Good morning, children.

S: Good morning, Miss. Zhong

T: Nice to meet you.

S: Nice to meet you, too.

T: Sit down, please!

S: Thank you!

2.    Sing an English song.

3.    Game:

①big         ②long            ③ tall          ④young         

⑤fat         ⑥hot              ⑦light           ⑧thick        

S2: Presentation and drill

1.The teacher shows many objects ,like pencils, apples, books, oranges, sweets etc, and then put them on the desk.

T: Hello, boys and girls. Look, what are these?

S: These are apples, oranges, sweets, pencils….

T: Now I have two apples, one is big, the other is small. Which one do you want, a big one or a small one?

S: A big one, please.

T: Here you are.

2. The teacher shows two boxes of sweets again.

T: Well, look, what are these? Guess. please.

S: Chocolates/Biscuits/Cakes/Sweets….

T: Year, these are sweets. A box of sweets.

 (The teacher writes down this phrase on the blackboard.)

T: Do you like sweets?

S: Year, I like sweets. ( Then write the topic: I like sweets.)

T: Look, these are two kinds of different sweets. These are hard sweets. Those are soft sweets.

 ( Show a hard sweet, let the student touch it. Then show a soft sweet, let the student touch it again. Then write “hard, soft” on the blackboard.).

Which one do you like, a hard one or a soft one?

S: A hard/soft one..

T: Here you are.

T: Don’t eat too many sweets. Eating too many sweets is bad for our teeth..

( Write down the word: teeth.)

Lead the students to read these new words and phrases.

S3: Practice

1.         Listen to Part A, and read after the computer.

2.         Read Part A and answer the questions:

Q1: What does Ann have?

Q2: What kind of sweets does Lingling choose?

Q3: What kind of sweets does Dongdong choose?

Q4: Why can’t we eat more sweets?

3.  Check the answers.

⒋  Act out the text in groups.

S4: Consolidation.

1.  Create the new situation.

2.   Give assessment.

S5: Summary

                          ↗hard  ↖

a box of sweets                   are bad for our teeth

                          ↘ soft  ↙

(tooth  (pl)   teeth,  foot  (pl)  feet

Which one do you like, a hard one or a soft one?

I like soft ones. Can I have a soft one?

 Yes, of course.

⑴:Recite the new words in this class.
